Green Card / DV Lottery Photo (2 x 2 inch)
For the DV Lottery interview and most USCIS Green Card photo requirements, applicants need two identical 2 x 2 inch (51 x 51mm) photos. Note this is different from the initial DV Lottery online entry, which instead asks for a digital JPEG between 600x600 and 1200x1200 pixels, under 240KB, with no printed size — use our Image Resizer and Image Compressor tools for that digital file, and this tool for the printed interview photos.
Green Card / DV Lottery Photo Requirements to Know
- Interview photos: 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51mm), printed
- DV Lottery online entry photo: digital only, 600-1200px square, under 240KB (not a print size — use the Image Compressor tool for that)
- Head size: 50-69% of image height, eye level 56-69% from the bottom
- Color photos only — black and white photos are disqualifying for DV Lottery
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Green Card photo the same size as the DV Lottery entry photo?
- No. The DV Lottery online entry needs a digital photo (600x600 to 1200x1200 px, under 240KB) with no print size requirement. The in-person interview needs printed 2 x 2 inch photos, which is what this tool creates.
